Heir to the British throne Prince William is considering doing away with some of the outdated elements of the coronation ceremony, including the massive crown, the Daily Mirror reports with reference to informed sources.
Although there is no talk of abdicating the throne, the future monarch intends to make the ritual more modern and symbolically unifying for the UK and the Commonwealth countries.
According to the publication, Prince William does not like the excessive pomp associated with "Disney" images. Instead, he seeks to update the monarchy, bringing it closer to the realities of the XXI century.
