A unified tourist visa for the Gulf States has been officially approved and will be implemented soon, UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri announced.
The new document will allow foreign travelers to freely visit the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries – the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait – on a single visa. The initiative is designed to simplify travel for tourists across the region and strengthen its status as a global hub for tourism and business.
The visa is expected to boost interest in combined itineraries, where business and leisure travel are combined in one trip. Experts predict an increase in employment in the sector and an additional contribution to the economy: in 2023 alone, the Gulf countries received over 68 million tourists, earning a record 110,4 billion USD from tourism - almost 43% more than pre-pandemic levels.
