The Turkmenistan U20 national football team defeated their peers from Afghanistan in the match for fifth place at the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Championship.

The match took place in Tursunzade (Tajikistan) and ended with a score of 4:2 in favor of Dovletmurat Annaev's team. The winners included Gurbangeldy Garajayev (2nd minute), Geldymyrat Cholukov (36), Yagmur Hajiyev (41) and Medetgeldy Charyev (47).

The best player of the match according to CAFA was Orazguly Orazgulyev.

The Afghan national team played with a man down from the end of the first half (45+4) due to the removal of Navid Mahbobi.
