On April 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Hector Isidro Arenas Neyra, who presented copies of his credentials.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, M. Bashimova congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the responsible post and assured of the Turkmen side’s readiness to assist in the implementation of his diplomatic mission.

During the talks, the parties discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation and expressed their commitment to developing constructive dialogue in the international arena. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for organizing political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and the establishment of an Interparliamentary Friendship Group between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Congress of the Republic of Colombia.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan invited the Colombian side to take part in the international forum scheduled for December 12, 2025 in Ashgabat.
At the end of the meeting, the Colombian Ambassador assured that he would make every effort to develop Turkmen-Colombian relations.
