National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that Turkmenistan in 2025 will pay special attention to the problems of migrants, refugees and the elimination of statelessness, TDH reports.
“In the humanitarian part, Turkmenistan will place special emphasis on the problems of migrants, refugees, and the elimination of statelessness. We propose considering the issue of applying the practice of our country’s work with stateless persons and refugees in other states of the region,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
In November 2024, during the Regional Ministerial Conference on the Eradication of Statelessness in Central Asia, it was reported that Turkmenistan had completely resolved the problem of stateless persons on its territory, becoming the second country in the world to achieve such a result.
