In a unique natural setting — the salt cave of the city of Igdir in eastern Türkiye — an unusual cultural event will unfold from September 11 to 15. At a depth of 80 meters, the children's book festival Tuzluca Fest will take place, bigasia.ru reports with reference to “Anadolu”.
The venue is one of the largest salt deposits in the Tuzludzha region. The festival's rich program, designed for five days, includes a children's carnival, theater performances for young viewers and book presentations. The organizers plan to invite writers and sand animation masters to make the event even more memorable.
Tuzluca District Governor Abdullatif Yilmaz shared that about 50 publishing houses will participate in the festival. He emphasized the uniqueness of the event: “This year, we will organize the first children’s book festival in Türkiye in a salt cave! We want to combine books, which have a beneficial effect on a person’s spiritual state, and rock salt, which is good for physical health. Our main goal is to popularize salt caves and attract more tourists to the region”.
The Governor expressed hope that Tuzluca Fest will become an annual tradition, attracting more and more participants and guests.
