Turkmen observers were present at the elections of deputies of the Majlis of Azerbaijan

Representatives of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan took part as international observers in the early elections of deputies of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported on the website of the Central Commission.

The Turkmen participants were part of the mission of international observers of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The representatives of Turkmenistan familiarized themselves with the activities of the electoral system and electoral legislation of Azerbaijan, and also observed the voting process at polling stations.

Following the results of the elections, 125 deputies of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan were elected from 990 competing candidates with a 5-year term of office, the source notes.

The participation of the Turkmen observers was held in order to study the world experience of organizing and holding elections.

Recall that in February, representatives of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan observed the course of the early elections of the President of Azerbaijan as part of the mission of international observers from the CIS.
