Scientists have found a link between working conditions and the risk of heart disease

A new study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association shows that unfavorable working conditions can negatively affect heart health, reports daily.afisha.ru.

Scientists observed almost 6000 office workers of both sexes, who initially had no problems with the cardiovascular system, for 18 years. By the end of the study, 186 cases of atrial fibrillation were recorded.

The results showed that employees who regularly work overtime have an 83% higher risk of developing atrial fibrillation compared to those who work in normal conditions.

Even more alarming statistics concern workers with irregular working hours and low wages – their probability of developing this pathology is 97% higher.
