President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to introduce modern technologies and increase production capacity in the oil and gas sector. The head of state also gave instructions on attracting foreign companies to develop energy resources in the Caspian Sea and continue geological exploration work.

Turkmenistan strives to expand cooperation with leading oil and gas companies and financial institutions. Particular attention is paid to the introduction of innovative technologies and digital systems in the domestic fuel and energy sector.

The country's gas processing industry is actively developing, and highly efficient production facilities with deep processing of gas raw materials are being created. Work is underway to modernize oil fields and increase oil recovery.

Turkmenistan pays great attention to environmental aspects of energy. Work is underway to minimize environmental risks during the extraction of energy resources and introduce protective technologies. The country has joined the Global Methane Commitment and is actively collaborating on climate change issues.

Projects in the field of renewable energy sources are being developed, including the construction of a hybrid solar-wind power plant. Turkmenistan plans to achieve net-zero growth in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and significantly reduce emissions in the long term.

International cooperation in the energy sector is developing through forums, conferences and exhibitions. Issues of attracting investment, introducing environmentally friendly technologies and developing “green” energy are discussed.
