A meeting was held in Ashgabat between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Teri Hakala. The parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to such areas of interaction as environmental protection, green and digital transformation, education, energy and the transport and logistics industry. They were identified as priority areas of partnership.
In addition, the parties reviewed the agenda of the upcoming Joint Conference of Turkmenistan and the EU, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of fruitful cooperation. The diplomats also discussed organizational issues of the
Ministerial Conference being prepared in Ashgabat in the “Central Asia – European Union” format.
