1. The President of Turkmenistan held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which issues of preparation for international events were discussed. During the meeting, issues of development of the transport sector, cooperation with international organizations and completion of the construction of a cultural facility in Ashgabat were also discussed.

2. The Decree of the President of Turkmenistan approved the composition of the State Commission for the organized holding of the grain harvest in 2024.

3. In Turkmenistan, work is underway to prepare drafts of a new edition of the Civil Code, the Law on the Literary Heritage of Magtymguly, as well as changes to the laws on physical culture, scientific and technical policy and seed production.

4. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the State Program for the Integrated Development of Biotechnology for 2024–2028, the purpose of which is to implement the program by various ministries and departments.

5. The Educational Center of the Ashgabat Stock Exchange begins recruiting students for a new training course in the discipline “Professional activities in the securities market”. This program is aimed at training qualified specialists to work in the stock market. The short-term course will last one month and starts on June 25.

6. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a press briefing dedicated to the upcoming large-scale celebrations on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.

7. The “World of Tales of Turkmenbashy” park in Ashgabat will hold a sports event with a master class and figure skating demonstrations, which will be held on May 12 from 9 to 10 am.

On May 17, on the opening day of the cultural and park complex “Magtymguly Fragi” and the monument to the great Turkmen poet, Ashgabat residents and guests of the capital will see a grand light show of drones and festive fireworks. The event will include a display of literary and artistic compositions, performances by theater artists, cultural figures and masters of the country's arts, as well as laying flowers at the monument.

9. On May 15, the International Exhibition of Modern Food Production Technologies starts in Ashgabat, where technological equipment, packaging and production resources will be presented. The exhibition will last until May 17.

10. A study by researchers at the University of California and Hope College found that differences in men's tastes in women's attractiveness may influence their friendships. The more different the tastes of men are, the higher the likelihood of a strong friendship. 11. Scientists have developed a 6G antenna that provides high data transfer speeds, several thousand times higher than 5G. One of the potential applications of 6G will be the creation of realistic holograms for communication. 6G specifications are expected to be approved in 2028, and commercial deployment of the technology will be possible after 2030.

12. Turkmen karatekas won 33 medals at the 9th WKF Central Asian Karate Championship in Samarkand. The Turkmenistan national team of 74 athletes under the leadership of coaches Aydyn Charyev and Igor Rahimov took an honorable third place in the team competition.

13. The 14th round of the Turkmenistan Major Football League starts on May 11. On this day the games will be held: “Altyn Asyr” - “Ahal”, “Shagadam” - “Kopetdag”, “Merv” - “Energetik” and “Arkadag” - “Ashgabat”. Football fans designated the match of the tour as the game between “Altyn Asyr” and “Ahal”, which will be held at the “Sport toplumy” stadium in the Buzmeyin etrap and will begin at 17:00.
