At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov heard a report from the Chairman of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova on the activities of the national Parliament in the first quarter of 2024, TDH reports.

According to Gulmanova, in the first three months of 2024, 9 new laws and 8 resolutions of the Mejlis were adopted in Turkmenistan. Among them are “On the establishment of the anniversary medal Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna”, as well as on energy saving and energy efficiency, on hydrometeorological activities, and ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on international road transport.

In addition, parliamentarians improved a number of other legal documents.

As part of the development of international and interparliamentary relations, 11 meetings have been held since the beginning of the year, including the acceptance of credentials from four ambassadors accredited in Turkmenistan.

Deputies and specialists of the Mejlis participated in 25 seminars with international organizations on the modernization of lawmaking. Parliamentary representatives made 7 working trips.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov highly appreciated the effectiveness of the work to improve the country's legislative framework, noting the importance of further development of the regulatory sphere in accordance with modern realities.
