In the Ahal velayat of Turkmenistan, a ceremony was held to present a prize of $1 million to the Ak Bugday etrap, which won the competition for the best etrap in the country in 2023.

According to TDH, the celebrations were attended by deputies of the Mejlis, members of the velayat and etrap people's councils, leaders of the National Center of Trade Unions and the Central Council of the Women's Union, velayat and etrap hyakimliks, a number of enterprises, representatives of public organizations, cultural and media workers, and venerable elders.

According to the terms of the competition, when summing up the results, indicators were considered in such areas as the implementation of the National Program of the President of Turkmenistan to transform the social and living conditions of the population of villages, towns, etrap cities and etrap centers, the fulfillment of contractual obligations for the production of wheat and cotton, the construction of social and cultural facilities appointments. In addition, the solution of social issues, including employment, organization of cultural leisure and involvement of the population in physical education and sports, is taken into account.

During the ceremony, on behalf of all residents of the etrap, sincere gratitude was expressed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his tireless concern for improving the well-being of the people, the enormous attention paid to the socio-economic development of the country, and the formation of modern infrastructure in the velayats, the agency notes.

Speakers at the celebration, congratulating the residents of the etrap on their well-deserved victory in the competition, noted that the award presented to the etrap would inspire them to new labor achievements.

Those gathered accepted an Address of gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in which they expressed great gratitude to the head of state for the high appreciation of their contribution to the dynamic socio-economic development of the state, assuring that they will continue to work selflessly for the prosperity of the Motherland, increasing its power and glory.

The festive atmosphere, permeated with the spirit of national culture and age-old traditions, was complemented by an exhibition that demonstrated the achievements of the agro-industrial complex, works of decorative and applied art, and the works of Turkmen painters and sculptors.
