The first electric train in Turkmenistan will connect the city of Arkadag and Ashgabat. You can get from one point to another on it in just 18 minutes.
The details of the project were discussed at the meeting by representatives of the “Turkmendemiryollary” Agency (Turkmen Railways) and the Russian holding company “Russian Railways”, reports the IIC.
During the meeting, the parties also reviewed joint initiatives for the development of the “North-South” transport corridor and the railway infrastructure of Turkmenistan. In particular, they discussed the reconstruction of the car repair plant in Gyzylarbat and the creation of a single logistics operator.
In addition, to strengthen cooperation, it is planned to open a representative office of Russian Railways in Turkmenistan and train Turkmen railway workers at the Corporate University of Russian Railways.
As a result of the negotiations, agreements were signed to begin the implementation of a number of projects between JSC “Russian Railways Logistics” and JSC “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan”, as well as LLC “Russian Railways International” and OJSC “Demiryollary”.
