In the 2023/24 academic year, the number of students from Turkmenistan studying in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation amounted to 2020 people. This is the highest figure among the CIS countries, reports the “Bashinform” news agency with reference to the region’s statistical office.
In total, 105 thousand students are studying at universities and branches of Bashkiria in the current academic year. In addition to Turkmenistan, many students came to study from Tajikistan (1472 people), Uzbekistan (544 people) and other neighboring countries.
Also, students from Asia and Africa, in particular from India, Egypt, China and other countries, come to the Republic of Bashkortostan to receive higher education.
As noted in the republic’s statistics department, foreign students study both on a budgetary basis and on a paid basis.
