Chinese engineers have created the world's first flexible random access memory based on liquid gallium. The new technology is called FlexRAM. Mail.ru reports this.
One drop of FlexRAM can store 8 bytes of data, which is significantly less than traditional DRAM.
The second disadvantage is the limited rewriting resource: only 3500 cycles.
However, FlexRAM has several advantages. It is flexible and can withstand deformation, and can store information for up to 12 hours without power.
Despite its limitations, FlexRAM has great potential for development. It can be used in miniature gadgets, robots and other devices where flexibility and autonomy are important.
