A meeting was held in Ashgabat between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Oil of Iran Javad Ovji. The parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation in the energy sector.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, there was a mutual desire to expand interaction between the relevant departments of the two countries. Interest in realizing the existing energy potential of Turkmenistan and Iran was emphasized.
