Today, in the building of the Historical and Local Lore Museum of Mary velayat, the grand opening of the Joint Turkmen-Iranian exhibition of works of decorative, applied and mosaic art was held.
As reported in the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, the exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan together with the hyakimlik of Mary velayat.
Exhibitions with the participation of Iranian art masters are held in Turkmenistan annually as a sign of the cultural and historical commonality of both countries.
The location of the current exhibition is deeply symbolic, since Ancient Merv, along with cities such as Nisa and Kunya Urgench, was the birthplace of many Persian-language poets, writers and scientists. It occupies an important place in the history and culture of Turkmenistan and Iran.
Tonight, the cultural event will continue at the State Drama Theater of Mary velayat named after Kemine: a concert by masters of art from Iran and Turkmenistan will be held here.
The exhibition will last until December 15.
We previously reported that Turkmenistan and Iran will hold a joint exhibition of works of decorative and applied art in Mary.
