The Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan accepted credentials from the new Ambassador of Benin

Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova accepted credentials from the new Ambassador of the Republic of Benin to Turkmenistan Akambi Andre Okunlola-Biau, TDH reports.


“In order to develop and strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation between our countries, Mr. Akambi Andre Okunlola-Biau was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin to Turkmenistan. His abilities give confidence that he will honorably carry out the high mission entrusted to him in such a way as to earn the respect of Your Excellency and justify the trust placed in him. In this regard, I ask Your Excellency to receive him with favor and to treat with full confidence in everything that he will communicate on my behalf, especially when he conveys assurances of high respect for you and unfailing friendship,” says the text of the credentials signed by the President Republic of Benin Patrice Talon.


On behalf of the head of Turkmenistan, the head of the national Parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible post, wishing him success in the noble mission of strengthening friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.


Thanking for the warm welcome on Turkmen soil, Akambi Andre Okunlola-Biau conveyed best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on behalf of the leadership of the Republic of Benin.


During the conversation, the Ambassador of Benin was informed in detail about the multilateral activities and structure of the Mejlis, primarily as part of the ongoing comprehensive modernization of the country’s legal framework. In this regard, in order to strengthen mutual understanding and trust, expand constructive interstate dialogue, a proposal was made to establish close inter-parliamentary contacts.


Emphasizing the interest of the Republic of Benin in intensifying cooperation with Turkmenistan, Akambi Andre Okunlola-Biau confirmed his readiness to fully promote the development of fruitful bilateral relations in various directions, including in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
