Representatives of the customs departments of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye discussed further steps to create a Joint Advisory Group on Customs Cooperation during an online meeting, reports the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The meeting participants agreed to exchange information about the members of the group in the near future, determined the time and place of its first meeting, and also considered the possibility of organizing a mutual exchange of information about vehicles and goods that move across the customs borders of the parties.
A Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye on the establishment of a Joint Advisory Group on Customs Cooperation was signed on December 14, 2022 in the city of Turkmenbashy. The group's goal is to simplify customs procedures in order to speed up the movement of goods and data exchange, as well as create conditions that will contribute to the development of mutual trade.
