President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived on a working visit to the capital of Uzbekistan to participate in the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
At the Tashkent international airport, the head of the Turkmen state was met by officials of Uzbekistan and members of the government delegation of Turkmenistan.
During the working visit, the President of Turkmenistan will meet with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and will also speak at the 16th meeting of the ECO, presenting Ashgabat’s vision for developing effective economic cooperation within this organization.
At present time, Turkmenistan chairs the ECO. The previous, 15th summit of the organization was held in Ashgabat in November 2021. During the period of chairmanship, a Concept was developed aimed at enhancing partnership in trade, economic, investment, transport, logistics and other areas. Following the results of the 15th ECO summit, the Ashgabat Consensus for Action was adopted.
