President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere condolences to the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella in connection with the bus accident that occurred near the city of Venice, which led to numerous casualties and injuries, the Watan news program of Turkmen television reported.
On behalf of the people and the Government of Turkmenistan, as well as on his own behalf, the head of state conveyed words of deep empathy and support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
A serious accident occurred on the evening of October 3, in the Italian city of Mestre near Venice. A passenger bus fell from the Rizzardi overpass onto the railway tracks from a height of about 10 meters and caught fire.
As a result of the accident, at least 21 people were killed and 15 were injured. Four or five are considered missing.
