On October 4, a ceremony was held in Ashgabat to present credentials to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov by the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, Gismat Gozalov, the Watan news program of Turkmen television reported.

During the meeting, Gozalov expressed Azerbaijan’s commitment to developing intergovernmental cooperation with Turkmenistan in the interests of the peoples of the two countries. The parties discussed prospects for the development of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, in the field of energy security and transport.

In addition, the parties expressed mutual interest in developing cultural and humanitarian cooperation, in particular in the fields of education, science, culture and art.
