Residents of one of the suburbs of Miami, Pinecrest, are terrorized by peacocks that have bred, reports the New York Times.

Birds yell loudly at night, damage parked cars and litter all the neighborhoods with their droppings. In addition, females become aggressive when defending their offspring.

Pinecrest authorities have decided to neuter male peacocks to minimize their breeding. Since there are usually several females and one male in a flock, this should help reduce the peacock population in the long term.
