President Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed Myratgeldi Balliyevich Seyitmammedov Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar (Doha city). The relevant Decree was signed by the head of state today, the Watan news program of the Turkmen television reported.
The decree on the opening of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Qatar was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in December 2022 "in order to further develop bilateral relations." The solemn opening ceremony of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Doha took place on March 20, 2023 as part of the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the State of Qatar.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on November 22, 1996.
