Among the “Oscar” nominations, a new category may appear - for stuntmen, reports the “Kinoreporter” website.
“John Wick” director Chad Stahelski initiated the “Oscars” for stunt work. It is not yet known by what criteria the work of the stunt team will be judged, whether it will be the best trick, the best fight choreography, the best work of the team or the work of the stunt coordinator. According to Stahelski, it remains to think through the details for the stunt nomination to be established.
A big role in the fact that the “Oscar” for stuntmen still appears, was played by the work of directors and stunt performers in the “John Wick” franchise. The complexity and quality of stunts in films is on the rise, for example, in the 4th film, Keanu Reeves' character fought opponents in the middle of a busy highway and fell down the steep stairs of Montmartre.
