The President of Uzbekistan today had a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, during which Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday and the official opening of the city of Arkadag, the press service of the Uzbek leader reports.

During the telephone conversation, issues of further expansion of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in the areas of trade, investment, industry, energy, agriculture and transport were discussed, as well as aspects of regional cooperation were considered. The intensification of fruitful contacts at all levels, including interregional and cultural and humanitarian exchanges, was noted.

During the conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the head of the friendly state success in the upcoming presidential elections on July 9 this year.

At the end of the telephone conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated each other on the holy holiday of Gurban Bayram, exchanged wishes for good health and happiness, and well-being and prosperity for the peoples of the two countries.
