Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Ji Kyu-taek, who presented his credentials to the head of state, the Watan news program of the Turkmen television reported.
“I have the honor to announce that I have appointed Mr. Ji Kyu-taek as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan. The high personal qualities and outstanding abilities of Mr. Ji Kyu-Taek convince me that he will contribute to strengthening the friendly relations between our countries and the mutual interests of both the Republic of Korea and Turkmenistan,” reads the text of the credentials signed by the President Republic of Korea Yun Sok Yeol.
Congratulating the authorized representative of the friendly country on his appointment to a responsible diplomatic post, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished him success in fulfilling this important mission for the sake of further development of fruitful Turkmen-Korean dialogue. The head of state noted that Turkmenistan highly appreciates cooperation with the Republic of Korea and aims to build it progressively in various fields.
In this context, it was noted that the Republic of Korea is one of the key partners of Turkmenistan in this area. Over the years, major Korean companies have been involved in various projects in the country's gas and chemical industries. Turkmenistan also widely uses cars and specialized equipment made in the Republic of Korea.
It was emphasized that the ongoing reforms and large-scale programs in Turkmenistan provide great opportunities for further intensification of the mutually beneficial Turkmen-Korean trade and economic partnership.
Along with this, an important role in the development of interstate relations is played by cultural and humanitarian dialogue, which contributes to the rapprochement of peoples and the mutual enrichment of cultures. In this regard, great importance is attached to the continuation of fruitful cooperation in the fields of education and culture, sports, tourism and healthcare.
In recent years, inter-parliamentary partnership has also intensified, complementing the multifaceted Turkmen-Korean relations.
In continuation of the topic, it was noted that the established productive contacts within the framework of the Cooperation Forum "Central Asia - the Republic of Korea" are an example of a successful dialogue in a multilateral format.
Expressing deep gratitude to the head of state for the warm welcome and the detailed conversation, the diplomat assured that he would make every effort to fulfill the responsible mission entrusted to him, in every possible way contributing to the strengthening of Turkmen-Korean cooperation that meets the interests of the two countries and peoples.
Sharing his impressions of his stay in Ashgabat, the plenipotentiary noted that he sincerely admired the beauty of the white marble Turkmen capital and the originality of its architectural ensemble.
