Industrial facilities will be included in the second phase of the construction of the city of Arkadag. This was stated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during today's working trip to this city, the information program "Watan" of the Turkmen television reported.

The head of the highest representative body of the people's power of Turkmenistan said that within the framework of the second stage, it is planned to build industrial complexes for the industrial processing of local raw materials that meet all environmental requirements.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also identified as an important task the study of issues related to the selection of local construction companies that will participate in the second phase of the construction of Arkadag.

We remind that the city of Arkadag, which will house approximately 70 000 people, is being built on an area of 950 hectares, 30 kilometers southwest of the Turkmen capital. “Smart” residential buildings controlled via a smartphone, a square with a flagpole, buildings of the hakimlik and other institutions have been built here.

The construction of this mega-project was started in 2019.

On March 24, 2023, the Law of Turkmenistan came into force, according to which the city of Arkadag is assigned a special legal status - a city of state significance.
