The heads of the Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency of Sea and River Transport of Turkmenistan and AD Ports Group (Abu Dhabi Ports) discussed topical issues of cooperation. The meeting was held via videoconference, nCa reports.
One of the topics discussed was the prospects for investing in the construction of new courts in Turkmenistan. In addition, it was proposed to bring ready-made ships of the company to the Caspian Sea.
The parties also considered the possibility of transferring the container terminal of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport on long-term terms to the trust management of AD Ports Group.
According to the head of the Emirates company, cooperation in this area can be implemented through the creation of a joint venture with the Turkmen side.
During the meeting as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and AD Ports Group in September 2022, issues such as port management, development of logistics and establishing cooperation in the field of maritime transport were discussed, and also the introduction of a digital system in the transport sector of the country.
