The Athletics Federation of Turkmenistan has confirmed the participation of 5 Turkmen athletes in the X Asian Indoor Athletics Championship in Astana, Orient edition reports.
The Asian Indoor Athletics Championship will be held from February 10 to 12, 2023. The competition is one of the most important events of the Asian Athletics Association calendar in 2023.
As per the information of the Mayor’s office of Astana, nearly 500 athletes from more than 31 country will take part in the large-scale event. Athletes will compete in 26 athletics disciplines, among which are running, throwing, jumping and all-around.
The championship will be held in the athletics sports complex "Kazakhstan" in Astana. The sports complex is certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), its stands are designed for 6.838 seats.
Turkmen athletes under the leadership of Baymurad Arslanmuradov will complete in the 60-meter hurdles, smooth running at the same distance and long jump.
The Asian Indoor Athletics Championship will be held on the CIS territory for the first time.
