Turkmenistan is working on further modernization of the country's legal framework. In particular, draft laws concerning circus art, the activities of local governments and notaries are being prepared.

In order to improve legislative acts, additions and changes are made to the Code of Turkmenistan “On Water” and the Tax Code of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Chairman of the Mejlis Milli Gengesha G. Mammedova at the meeting of the Government held on Friday. Also, the parliamentarians are engaged in popularization of the country's achievements in all areas, explaining the meaning of the adopted laws, she noted.

Then the Deputy Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesha K. Babayev reported on the ongoing planned work to bring the legislation in line with the realities of the time. The Halk Maslahaty and the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh, together with other government agencies, are preparing draft legal acts. A number of legislative documents are currently under consideration by the working groups.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the critical importance of modernizing the national legal framework.

“Milli Gengesh should provide a legislative basis for the work aimed at further prosperity of an independent country, improving the life of our native people”, - the head of state noted.
