Today, during the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov of Turkmenistan, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Turkmenistan Ion Naval presented copies of his credentials.
As per the Turkmen Foreign Ministry R.Meredov, having congratulated the Ambassador of Romania on his appointment to a responsible position, he wished him success in his diplomatic activities.
Within the framework of the meeting, issues of strengthening of mutual relations between the two countries was discussed.
The parties underlined that the positive experience of cooperation, as well as importance of mutual support for international initiatives within the frame of reputable regional and international organizations, primarily the UN.
The Romanian Ambassador assured that during his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan he would make every effort to further expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Earlier we reported that the Romanian Parliament approved the candidacy for the post of new ambassador to Turkmenistan.
