President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed Lieutenant General Begench Gundogdyev Secretary of the State Security Council. Today, the corresponding Decree was signed during an expanded meeting of the State Security Council, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television reported.

Gundogdyev replaced the Secretary of the Security Council Charymyrat Amanov, who was released today "in connection with the transition to another job."
At the same meeting, the President of Turkmenistan approved Gundogdyev as the country's Defense Minister.
