Deputy Prime Minister, candidate from Democratic party of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov declared, that if he wins the presidential election, the country will continue its policy of positive neutrality.
“If I am given great confidence, I will, of course, continue the neutral foreign policy of our country,” TASS quotes his words.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov added, that Turkmenistan is a peace-loving state, and one of the foreign policy foundations is the expansion of friendly, good neighborly relations strengthening partnership with international organizations, primarily the UN.
Let us remind you, that today Turkmenistan hold early presidential elections. Nine candidates are claiming to the highest state post. A candidate needs to get the most votes to win.
As we reported earlier, inauguration of the new President will take place on March 19.
