Almaty hosts "The 48 hour film project", an international short film festival, in which creative teams from Central Asian countries take part. A contestant from Turkmenistan Murad Mollaev takes part in a competition with his film “Life Calculation”. The film with a dramatic plot is based on real events, and here M. Mollaev acted as a director and performer of the main role.

"The 48-hour film project" is a unique project that gives professionals and amateurs in the cinema a chance to open their talent to the world. The main condition of the competition is already laid down in the name of the film festival - to shoot a film 48 hours in advance immediately after receiving an assignment from the organizers by e-mail. Creative teams need to have time to write a script, shoot a film, edit it and send the finished material to the competition, within 48 hours and not a second later.

This year, 976 teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are participating in the competition. And 249 films will compete for the opportunity to become the winner. In each film, which is 4 minutes long, there must be two specific objects, a phrase and a character. In the current assignment - water, number 30, the phrase “Yes, easy!” and a running man. This is done so that the picture is not prepared in advance, but filmed directly within the competition 48 hours. The jury will select 48 best works in different nominations. The Best Picture winner will travel to New York for an intensive film making course from the New York Film Academy. Also, at stake is 2,500 US dollars, a SONY ILC-E6400L camera and other prizes.

A participant from Turkmenistan Murad Mollaev is better known in the country as Murad-Molla - a blogger, one of the first weiners - the creator of short videos on Instagram and YouTube, began to try himself as a director of short films and participate in international film festivals held in different countries of the world. The blogger's subscribers who know him as the author of comedy videos, having got acquainted with the new works of Mollaev in the dramatic genre, will be able to discover him from a completely new side.

On the eve of the grand final and the announcement of the winners, traditional film screenings of competitive works were held in cinemas in Kazakhstan. And the organizers used a fragment of the film “Calculation of Life” by the Turkmen director M. Mollaev in their advertising clip about the film festival "The 48 hour film project".
