President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping invited President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to take part in the second UN Global Conference on Sustainable Transport, the press service of the country's Foreign Ministry said.
The event will take place in Beijing from October 14 to 16 in online and offline formats. Its main theme is “Sustainable Transport, Sustainable Development”.
“It is my pleasure to invite you to attend and virtually speak at the opening ceremony of the conference,” Xi Jinping said in his message.
In the letter, he stressed that the conference will provide a platform for mutual learning and inclusive development for all countries, will contribute to the development of global transport and connectivity, and will contribute to the recovery of the world economy.
In his opinion, this is a good opportunity to share experience in the field of sustainable development among members of the UN family and discuss plans to deepen cooperation in the field of interaction.
As a reminder, the first Global Conference on Sustainable Transport was held in November 2016 in Ashgabat.
