Due to the domestic political situation in Afghanistan that changed on Sunday, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kabul and the country's Consulates General in Herat and Mazar-I-Sharif continue to function in a regular mode. This was reported today by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The message of the Turkmen MFA also emphasizes that "the external perimeter of the premises of the Embassy and Consulates General is being guarded by the representatives of the “Taliban” movement”.
At the same time, “the Turkmen diplomats fulfill their duties in full format in accordance with the regular working schedule of the missions of Turkmenistan abroad”.
"A reduction of the staff members or partial evacuation of the employees of the diplomatic mission and the consular entities did not take place" the information of the Turkmen MFA notes.
Recall that, the government of Afghanistan has changed on Sunday. Representatives of the Taliban movement entered Kabul and took control of the presidential palace. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has resigned and left the country.
