Research work is being carried out in the laboratory of drug production technology of the Center of Technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan to develop a method for obtaining a dry extract of camel thorn, which grows in abundance in the country and is widely known for its healing properties, according to the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

As the head of the laboratory, Batyr Danatarov, said, in the process of research, various methods of its production were tested, and based on the results of the tests, a high-tech product was obtained - a dry extract of camel thorn. The conducted scientific tests made it possible to determine the quantitative content of various types of bioactive substances and identify the main ones in the dry extract.

Based on the results of the research, regulatory documentation will be prepared on quality parameters, storage rules and quality control of the obtained dry extract, which is necessary for the official registration of this product.

The laboratory also conducts research on other medicinal plants for obtaining medicinal products under the concluded contracts.

Since the beginning of this year, the laboratory has been operating on an economic basis, but it already has enough orders for both laboratory tests and research work. The main partners are enterprises of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, as well as entrepreneurs.
