A conference dedicated to the announcement of the motto of 2021 “Turkmenistan is the Motherland of Peace and Trust” was held today in Ashgabat. The event, held in the conference hall of the Center for Public Organizations, was attended by the leaders and representatives of the Mejlis, the National Center of Trade Unions, the Women's Union, the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, political parties, universities and the media.

According to the State News Agency, it has become a good tradition in Turkmenistan to name each year, proclaiming in its motto the key guidelines for national development at a new stage. This contributes to an increase in the patriotic spirit and the desire of every person to be involved and make a personal contribution to the colossal work carried out in the country under the leadership of the leader of the nation.

The decision to approve the motto of this year was made on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the basis of numerous proposals from the people, state institutions, large public organizations and political parties.

The speakers emphasized that the ideological message of the 2021 motto is aimed at widely popularizing the achievements of the Fatherland, disclosing their significance, imparting an impetus to large-scale economic transformations and social progress, as well as promoting the contribution of our country to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, to ensuring peace and stability, international initiatives of the head of state.

The content of this year's motto is consistent with the Resolution “2021 - International Year of Peace and Confidence” adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan at the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, the speakers noted.

The emblem, which was chosen as a result of the announced competition, will henceforth accompany all the solemn events that will be held in our country under the sign of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Motherland.

Expressing gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for large-scale activities to develop the country, increase its authority in the world arena, the audience emphasized that the Year “Turkmenistan - Homeland of Peace and Trust” will undoubtedly be marked by new glorious achievements and great deeds.

The conference participants assured that they will make every effort to solve the problems of popularizing the progressive domestic and foreign policy of the President of Turkmenistan, the achievements of the beloved Motherland, and the patriotic education of youth.
