First nappy 15-santimeter “hedgehogs” on the slope side of one section of Kopetdag state natural reservation Germabsky were planted by the ecologists five years ago, as informs “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
In order to do this, pine berries were collected in the old Kopetdag juniper forests, germinated in sparing conditions, and then placed in a cascade in three rows in fertilized holes.
From that time, every year the grove is replenished with new seedlings. Currently the number of trees which feel fine in the middle belt of mountains on the height up to 2000 meters above sea level, reached 100.
For the first years, they were watered with spring water and now they are on their own continue to grow upwards.
In future, it is also planned to replenish this juniper forest with young seedlings.
