President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky forwarded telegram of congratulations President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, the telegram is published today in newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.

“From the name of the Ukrainian people and on my own behalf I express my sincere congratulations on the occasion of celebration of the International day of neutrality and 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan” is said in the felicitation of Zelensky. 

“The acquisition of the status of permanent neutrality by Turkmenistan, supported by the UN General Assembly Resolution in 1995, was a decisive step in the life of the Turkmen people and the international policy of the state”, the congratulation says.

“The strategy of permanent neutrality creates a solid foundation for maintaining stability and sustainable development in the Central Asian region and in the world as a whole. I appreciate your personal efforts in this important area.

I am convinced that thanks to our common desire, mutually beneficial and constructive cooperation between Ukraine and Turkmenistan will continue to deepen the welfare of our peoples”, Zelensky said in his congratulation.

Moreover, the head of Ukraine wished President of Turkmenistan strong health and new achievements in responsible state work, and peace, harmony and prosperity to friendly Turkmen people. 

Today Turkmenistan celebrates International Neutrality Day, the second major holiday after the Independence Day. Neutrality Day of Turkmenistan was established in honor of adoption of special resolution regarding the permanent neutrality of the country on 12th of December 1995 by the UN General Assembly. Till 2017 Turkmenistan celebrated national holiday on the 12th of December – Neutrality Day. In February of 2017 on the initiative of Turkmenistan UN General Assembly declared 12th of December as the International Neutrality Day.
