Snow fell in Ashgabat today. At first, everyone thought it was just rain, but when large snowflakes swirled in the air, even skeptics had no doubts.

Everyone, of course, remembers the snow that fell in Ashgabat on April 1 in 2014. But so that on April 8 to catch snowflakes – such, it seems, in our memory was not, at least, for the last 20 years... Oh, if only he knew how we waited for him in January. And even in February. And even slightly in early March. But that in April is a surprise for the citizens. It seems that the Ashgabat spring decided to surprise us, and it succeeded!

The rainy weather in the capital lasted for several days. It rained heavily for two days. The average temperature since April 1 was kept in the range of +14/16 °C degrees.

On April 7, the weather changed abruptly to cool: in the morning it was +5, and in the afternoon, although it rose to 8°C, but with a cold wind it felt like 5 degrees. By evening, the temperature dropped to +3°C.

On the night of 7 to 8, it began to rain, which stopped by 4 o'clock in the morning. The rain resumed by 7 o'clock and around 8:15 gradually turned into snow, which fell in large snowflakes. In total, it snowed for about an hour. The air temperature in the morning was +2 °C, but it felt like 0°C. 3.9 mm of precipitation fell.
During the day, the temperature will warm up to 8 degrees, and by the evening it will fall to 3°C. Wind from the North-West, gusty 6 m/s.

Tomorrow, meteorologists promise no precipitation, a Sunny day, however, with gusty winds. The daytime temperature will warm up to 11 degrees. And on Saturday, heavy rains with thunderstorms are expected, precipitation will fall up to 12 mm.
The April snow had already melted and carried away the last greetings of Winter. We hope it's the last one.
