President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov actively held the world health day celebrated today in Turkmenistan.

Today, after working out in the Presidential Akhal-Teke equestrian complex riding on the Akhal-Teke “Gyratym”, the head of state then went on bicycles with his son Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the direction of the Olympic town, where he made a bike ride.

The Olympic village, which includes about 40 different sports facilities, is an ornament of Ashgabat and the pride of its residents.

In the Olympic town, the President of Turkmenistan visited an indoor Cycling track and made a training ride on a Bicycle on the race track.

This bike track, designed for 6 thousand seats, meets all the parameters of international standards and modern requirements for objects of this kind. With its commissioning, a new page in the history of the national Cycling movement began, since this type of structure was built in Turkmenistan for the first time. The quality of the facility was evaluated by specialists of the International Cycling Union, which decided to hold the world track Cycling championship in 2021 in Ashgabat.

After making several laps along the bike path, the head of state then discussed with his colleagues the issues of popularizing the principles of a healthy lifestyle and sports, mass physical culture and health movement.

Today, the number of people involved in sports has increased significantly in Turkmenistan, and its significance and importance in society has increased. The main goal of the strategy for the development of national sports and strengthening the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society is to increase the number of supporters of sports and physical education, especially children, boys and girls.

Focusing on the issues of educating the younger generation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the need to involve sports and labor in this process.

The formation of the integrity of physical, spiritual, intellectual and professional development of young people is a complex educational process that requires joint efforts on the part of the family, education and other social institutions of society, the President of Turkmenistan said, instructing to keep under constant control the implementation of tasks related to the approval of the principles of a healthy lifestyle.
