Specialists of the Ministry of energy are considering the possibility of using combined energy production systems consisting of traditional turbines, renewable energy sources with the inclusion of diesel generators for local users.

The state electric power Corporation "Turkmenenergo" has developed a project proposal for the construction of a solar-wind power plant that can fully provide clean energy for the future modern socio-economic complex, which is being built near the Turkmen lake "Altyn Asyr" at the initiative of the President.

Specialists of the Institute "Turkmenenergoproekt", the enterprise "Gosenergonadzor" and the office of urban lighting cooperate with the project of the agro-ecological Department and the UNDP "sustainable cities" in the field of street lighting renewal. The partnership is particularly evident in the installation of intelligent electronic networks for economical use of electricity, led lamps, including partially powered by solar panels, at the pilot sites of Ashgabat and “Avaza”.

The State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan has prepared calculations for generating electricity from renewable energy sources based on the intensity of the sun and the strength of the wind on the scale of the velayats, as well as the installation of a powerful photovoltaic solar station, which can be up to thousands of units of panels.
