President of the Turkmenistan Ice Hockey Federation Jora Hudayberdiyev took part in the 4th World Hockey Forum, which was held recently in Moscow.

The representative forum brought together the leaders of the federations, as well as leading coaches and athletes from all countries where this Olympic sport is developed. The forum’s work, first of all, is aimed at the promotion and development of hockey in the international sports arena, so that this game becomes even more interesting and brighter. And it is very gratifying that our national Federation, headed by its chairman Jora Hudayberdiyev, with the support of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, has been actively participating in solving the tasks for the third year in a row.

The current event was the fourth in a row (the first was held in 2016). That is, Turkmenistan is involved in almost all meetings, on the agenda of which there are important issues related to the holding of major competitions of world and regional level, the discussion of innovations in the rules and much more.

According to Jora Hudayberdiyev, in the current forum, which was also attended by representatives of the National Hockey League and Kontinental Hockey League, one of the issues discussed was an increase in the size of the goal so that attacking players had more chances to realize scoring chances.

The World Hockey Forum also discussed the development of children's hockey, in particular, it was discussed how to correctly put the work on attracting a larger number of the younger generation to the hockey sections. For this, in many countries specialized sports boarding schools are being built, aimed at educating young hockey players, new teams are being created to create the proper competition. In Turkmenistan, it should be noted that a new process of children's training, developed in the past few years by specialists of the International Hockey Federation (IIHF), is also being introduced.

The next World Hockey Forum is scheduled to be held in February 2020 in Stockholm (Sweden). The chairman of the Turkmenistan Ice Hockey Federation  Jora Hudayberdiyev also received a special invitation to this event.
