The international Samarkand Marathon will take place in Samarkand on November 7 and 8. Among the participants will be representatives from Turkmenistan: 11 runners from the "Tm Run Club" community.

The Turkmen athletes will compete in the 5 km, 10 km, and 21,1 km races.

The organizers note that this year, professional athletes from various countries—including participants in the Olympic Games and world championships—will take to the 42,2 km course.

In 2025, the Samarkand Marathon brought together nearly 10 thousand participants from 53 countries. Runners from 72 countries have already registered for the 2026 marathon.

The start and finish lines will be located near Registan Square, and the route will wind through the historic center of Samarkand.
