During a working visit to Dashoguz velayat for the groundbreaking of new industrial facilities and the opening of a section of a highway, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov delivered a speech to those attending the ceremony.
"We are taking part in the groundbreaking ceremony for several significant projects in the Dashoguz velayat of our country: the Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway, an oil-extraction plant for processing industrial cotton seeds, and a new complex for the production of nitrogen fertilizers." “Furthermore, a section of the Turkmenbashy–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border highway—specifically the stretch from Garabogaz to the Kazakh border—is being commissioned today in the Balkan velayat. I offer my heartfelt congratulations on these remarkable events,” the statement reads.
All of this work is the result of large-scale programs currently being successfully implemented: the "Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State: National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022–2052" and the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028."
The construction of the Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway—intended to serve as a key link in the prospective North–South transport corridor—will connect the country’s northern region with the capital, enhance transport and transit potential, ensure the safety of transport links, and significantly increase trade volumes as well as the flow of goods and passengers between neighboring states. Along the approximately 550-kilometer-long highway, full facilities will be provided for passengers and drivers, and modern monitoring equipment and control systems—managed via a digital network—will be installed. A new 812-meter-long road bridge will be constructed, and nine existing bridges will undergo complete modernization.
"Last year, the foundation was laid for the Turkmenbashy–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border highway. And today, we are commissioning a 44-kilometer section of this road: the stretch from Garabogaz to the border zone." "This road infrastructure, which forms part of the International North–South Transport Corridor, will become a key link in transport routes of international significance," the President noted.
The vegetable oil production facility, which will have the capacity to process 60 thousand tons of technical cottonseed annually, will be equipped with advanced machinery from international companies with extensive experience in this field. Once the facility becomes operational, it will provide employment opportunities for approximately 250 people in the Dashoguz velayat.
"The new chemical facility, for which the foundation is being laid today in the Dashoguz velayat, also represents a major investment project. This complex will incorporate advanced technological solutions from leading European and Asian companies, ensuring that its production processes comply with environmental standards," the head of state emphasized.
Many of the future specialists have received their training at universities abroad, and the necessary conditions have been put in place for their work.
“Overall, the construction of a modern nitrogen fertilizer production complex will represent a significant contribution to the long-term development of the domestic chemical industry…” "We will continue to pursue our course toward the development of all regions of our independent homeland," the President concluded, congratulating the participants of the celebration and wishing them good health, family well-being, and great success in their work.
