A participant from Turkmenistan has become the super-champion of an international mental arithmetic tournament

Nuryagdy Meredov, a representative of Turkmenistan, won the title of "Super Champion" at the Asia World Brain Cup 2026—an international competition focused on the abacus, mental arithmetic, and mathematics. The event took place on October 24 in Tashkent.

The awards ceremony took place at the Palace of Youth Creativity. The organizers highlighted the outstanding results and exceptional performance of the participant from Turkmenistan across several disciplines: the abacus, mental arithmetic, and mathematics. At the conclusion of the tournament, he was presented with a certificate, a commemorative medal, and a trophy inscribed with the title "Super Champion."

This is not the first victory for the young mathematician. He has previously achieved success in mental arithmetic competitions, and this new title is a continuation of his consistent efforts in this field.

Mental arithmetic is based on performing calculations in one’s mind by visualizing an abacus—a traditional Japanese counting tool. This method is used to develop memory, attention, and the speed of thought, and international tournaments in the subject are held in many countries.
