Applications for free higher education in Greece for the 2027–2028 academic year have opened

Applicants from Turkmenistan can enroll in public universities in Greece without entrance exams. Applications can be submitted until April 2027.

Applications are now open for citizens of Turkmenistan to study at public universities in Greece for the 2027–2028 academic year. This has been announced by the legal firm "VASH CENTER," which has been operating in Greece since 2009.

Free education for foreigners

Education at public universities in Greece is free of charge, specifically for international students. Admission takes place without entrance exams. Students also receive free textbooks and study materials.

4 main areas of study

  • Medicine

  • Humanities

  • Technical sciences

  • Economics and computer science

What students receive:

  • free tuition at a public university;

  • free student housing and meals in the university canteen;

  • a European degree upon graduation;

  • the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ international student exchange program;

  • the option to obtain a residence permit in Greece, in accordance with current regulations;

  • no age restrictions.

The first year is dedicated to the Greek language.

Instruction at Greek universities takes place in Greek; therefore, prospective students must first complete a preparatory language course. No prior knowledge of Greek is required to begin this preparatory program.

When to submit your documents

Applications for the 2027–2028 academic year are now being accepted. Prospective students can currently receive consultations, sign a service agreement, and begin preparing their documents—including the necessary legalization procedures. Official submission of documents in Greece takes place from July 1 to July 10, so it is best not to wait until the last minute to start your preparations.

Required documents

Three documents are necessary for admission:

  • a secondary school leaving certificate (covering 10, 11, or 12 years of schooling) that qualifies the holder for university admission in the country where it was issued;

  • a birth certificate;

  • a school certificate (official statement from the school).

If an applicant has completed only 9 years of schooling, an additional diploma from a vocational school, technical college, or similar institution will be required. Whether this diploma can be used depends on the level of education it represents, its official recognition, and its compliance with the requirements set by the Greek authorities. You can have your documents reviewed in advance at "Vash Tsentr" (Your Center).
